Las Vegas is one of the most exciting places in the country to renew your vows. Bold locations, neon lights, and desert landscapes make it truly a unique backdrop for celebrating a marriage milestone. Whether you are eloping for the first time or coming back twenty years later to say “I do” again, this city gives you options most places simply cannot match. That is exactly what brought Stephanie and Rigo to town.

Stephanie and Rigo came to Las Vegas to celebrate twenty years together, and they wanted their vow renewal to feel just as bold as their marriage. Stephanie owns her own cake company (@stephburg_ on Instagram), so it is safe to say she knows a thing or two about celebrating in style.
We met Stephanie & Rigo at their hotel room at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to kick things off. Getting ready is one of our favorite parts of any wedding or vow renewal day. It is quiet, it is personal, and it is where the nerves and excitement really start to show. After her hair and makeup were done by the incredible Vegas Ready Beauty, we captured a few detail shots before the two of them got dressed and ready for the day ahead.
Once they were ready, we spent some time exploring The Cosmopolitan itself. This hotel is one of our go-to spots for Las Vegas elopement and vow renewal photos because of how much variety it offers in one place. Between the bold interior design, the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the iconic Strip views, there is no shortage of backdrops. We moved through a few different spots in the hotel with Stephanie and Rigo, capturing candid moments and portraits as we went.
The best part is that we fit their entire getting-ready and Cosmopolitan session into a single hour. Stephanie and Rigo were on a schedule, with a car pickup arranged to take them to Bliss Chapel for the vow renewal ceremony itself. A tight timeline is common with Vegas elopements and vow renewals, and it is something we plan for on every shoot so couples never feel rushed in front of the camera. Las Vegas has become one of the most popular destinations in the country for vow renewals, and it is easy to see why. Couples can design a day that fits their personalities instead of following a traditional format. Some want an intimate ceremony at a chapel like Bliss Chapel, followed by portraits on the Strip. Others want the full experience: a hotel getting-ready session, a ceremony, and a night out exploring everything Vegas has to offer. For Stephanie and Rigo, that meant a getting-ready session at The Cosmopolitan, a walk through the hotel, and a ceremony at Bliss Chapel to mark two decades of marriage. It is the kind of day that photographs beautifully because every stop looks completely different from the last.
We shoot at The Cosmopolitan often enough that we have a few tips worth passing along if you are planning your own getting-ready session or portraits there.
If you can, book one of the Wraparound Terrace Suites. They are a favorite among Las Vegas photographers for a reason: floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and open views of the Strip and the mountains beyond it. Natural light pours into these rooms most of the day, which makes a huge difference for getting-ready photos. You do not need a large wedding party to book one either. They work well for a couple and one or two guests.
The hotel is full of art installations and sculptural details tucked into hallways, elevator banks, and even the parking garage. These spots rarely have anyone else around, which makes them great for quieter, more candid portraits between the bigger, more iconic shots.
One practical tip: The Cosmopolitan sits right in the middle of the Strip, within walking distance of several other resorts. If you want variety in your gallery without a long car ride between locations, you can walk to nearby backdrops and be back in your room within the hour, which is exactly what allowed us to fit Stephanie and Rigo’s full session into sixty minutes before their car arrived.
